Dear colleagues,

Welcome to spring quarter. This issue of the newsletter reports on the many ways in which UCI research has an impact. Examples include studies of autonomous vehicle safety, the impact of diet on health, and adapting to climate change.

In addition, our faculty continue to earn honors for their exceptional achievements. Bernadette Boden-Albala was honored by the American Stroke Association for her contributions in addressing stroke inequities among diverse communities. Richard Arum and Greg Duncan have been recognized as being among the most influential education scholars in the nation. Other campus highlights include UCI Libraries being recognized with an Excellence in Access and Diversity Award and UCI's Phi Beta Kappa Chapter celebrating its 50th anniversary.

UCI Libraries Receives Excellence in Access and Diversity Award

UCI Libraries received a 2024 Library Excellence in Access and Diversity Award from Insight Into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education. The award honors academic libraries' programs and initiatives that encourage and support diversity, equity and inclusion across their campuses. Read more
